OEIS To Offer Janus AI to Customers and Priority Venues in Canada and US
Brantford, ON, March 29, 2021 – Solutions Into Motion, a Brantford, ON, tech company is announcing its latest dealer of its facial recognition/thermal sensing technology called Janus. The newest dealer is OEIS, a certified company based out of Niagara Falls, Ontario, servicing the North American market.
OEIS has satellite offices in markets across Ontario and in California and serves thousands of clients in Canada and the US. The company has been dealing in protective services, surveillance system planning, security guard services, private investigations, background checks, to name a few, since 1998. OEIS were in search of a venue or business entrance way technology that could help instantly detect body temperature and compliance with mask protocols and decided to offer Janus.

Janus has been in market across North America now for six months and gained traction in the restaurant and car dealership spaces. Recent interest for the technology is vast and spans virtually any public facing facility.
Out of the box, Janus has been configured to instantly monitor body temperature and ‘welcome’ patrons into a venue if temperature readings are below 37.3°C (99°F). That is the body temperature threshold outlined by the government of Canada’s public health guidelines, based off of World Health Organization (WHO) recommendations. If Janus detects a customer entering with a high temperature, the device will audibly ask the person to ‘please wait for assistance from a staff member’. At this point the process will be done again, leaving the final decision up to the staff member on whether to permit entrance or not. It does not store any personal data and meets all personal privacy guidelines.
Janus also features facial recognition technology that alerts for non-compliance of mask wearing requirements. If a mask is not present, or even if it is not positioned on the face properly, Janus will politely ask the customer to ‘please wear a mask’. If both requirements are met (temperature and mask), the system will display a big green checkmark and say ‘welcome to….’.
Currently Solutions Into Motion are working on customizing more of Janus’ plethora of functionality. For instance, currently work is being done on the R&D to monitor and manage building access/entry, through integration with existing access systems, replacing the need for access cards or key fobs. It can also be used in-house for accurate staff time logs and other attendance reporting capabilities to help managers/operators understand and analyze data about capacity, reservation trending, peak times, and so much more.
