Case Studies
These cases come from real clients using
the Trackem GPS system as part of their business
to track vehicles and mobile workers. |
|
| |
| Business
Case Study 1 |
| The company had serious issues
with TIME THEFT as the employees would
fill out manual time sheets and fudge the numbers. |
| |
| Solution |
| The first week they had Trackem®
they uncovered that 6 employees divided between 3 trucks
would go sit in a park for 1 to 2 hours everyday. The
company estimates they will save $52,000 this year by
reducing the time theft from these six
(6) employees alone. They uncover and save more from the
other 15 mobile workers. |

Case Study 2 |
| One of this companies employee
went to plow the parking lot one night, but it was not
there. The tractor had been stolen. |
| |
| Solution |
| The owner viewed his Trackem®
account, and saw the tractor was about 2 hours away. He
then printed off the reports and started driving to the
location that Trackem reported. He called the police who
met him at the location of the tractor; they went in and
recovered his tractor as well as three other stolen tractors.
The owner then called his insurance company the next day;
they gave him a 15% discount for having an in-vehicle
GPS device installed. |

Case Study 3 |
| A Trackem® client has
a discrepancy about where his employees were at a specific
time. Security of the site said he noticed them leaving
at 11pm with the merchandise that was stolen from the
site where Trackem® client was working. |
| |
| Solution |
| Owner verified when his employees
left the site (9pm) from Trackem® and forwarded the
reports to the company accusing them. Employees left two
hours earlier, turns out the contracting company tried
to set them up. Client has also eliminated discrepancies
between them and their clients. |
| |
| Client has also eliminated
TIME THEFT each month |
| $25/hr x 2hr/day x 20 days/month
x 5 employees = $5000/month |
| |
| Administration gains “paycheck”
and ‘site management’ data from simple reports.
Employees no longer hand in manual logs and have to start
from company yard. Gained Employee accountability. |

Case Study 4 |
| Transportation Company was
going to be charged $400 dollars for allegedly not showing
up to a drop site in order to meet a crane company. |
| |
| Solution |
| Transportation company printed
off their Trackem® GPS reports that
showed they were on-site for four (4) hours. They then
asked the crane company to provide the same sort of information.
Unfortunately they could not. Since the crane company
could not provide this they ended up paying the Transportation
company the $400. A week later the crane company became
a Trackem® client. |

Case Study 5 |
| While using Trackem®'s
in-vehicle GPS solution one of our customers
broke down in Texas. The driver knew which highway he
was on but wasn’t sure where. He did not have any
mile marker references. |
| |
| Solution |
| The driver called his dispatcher
who looked at their Trackem® account and saw his GPS
location. The dispatcher was able to call a mobile
mechanic who was on-site in 20 minutes and had the truck
up and running in 45. “Without this system there
is no way we could have had him up and running in 45 minutes”,
said the dispatcher. |

Case Study 6 |
| This company had issues with
employees misusing the company vehicles. The owner of
the company was driving to his cottage one weekend. He
ended up stopping for gas and pulled up beside one of
his vehicles. The truck was LOADED with furniture. It
was also not one of his employees driving this vehicle. |
| |
| Solution |
| Employees still take their
vehicles home so they can go straight to the site in the
morning and not have to meet at the yard. They are also
on call 24/7 so they need to have them to run to a site.
They are not supposed to use the vehicle for personal
use after hours or on weekends. Now the company can manage
their fleet without having them present at the yard and
know if they are being misused. The results? Thousands
of dollars saved on maintenance, wear and tear and reduced
KM on their leased vehicles. |
